The ARC- Onderstepoort Veterinary Research (ARC-OVR) seeks to appoint a highly skilled, experienced, and dynamic person to the following position at Onderstepoort, Pretoria.
Job Description
  • Ensure waste is sorted before incinerated.                                
  • Ensure waste is clearly marked and labelled.                           
  • Ensure waste is kept in controlled area and secured.              
  • Ensure ash is removed and disposed correctly and securely.  
  • Monitor incinerator temperature and report any faults.             
  • Ensure waste is weighed from both internal and external clients.
  • Safe keeping of the record book.                         
  • Ensure scale works properly.                                                    
  • Ensure the site is clean and maintained.                                  
  • Ensure strict access into the site.                          
  • Ensure there is enough safety material for execution of tasks i.e face masks and earmuffs.                                
  • Ensure incoming waste is packed in complying packets and clearly marked.                                     
  • Ensure the site is locked after working hours.                         
  • Attend safety meetings and briefings.                                   
  • Ensure waste is recorded correctly and forwarded to office for invoicing.                         
  • Attending to incinerator related enquiries.                                
  • Recording of weekly diesel levels.                       
  • inspect and report any faults with the machinery.                    
  • Minor machinery maintenance i.e. ash removal.                     
  • Dumping site maintenance.
Job Requirements
  • Matric, Driver's License will be added advantage.
  • Knowledge of applicable safety laws related to farm machinery.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and highly safety conscious.

Competitive remuneration package will be congruent with the scope, responsibilities, and the stature of the position.
