The ARC-Tropical & Subtropical Crops (ARC-TSC) seeks to appoint an MSc student to work on a new project funded by the Department of Agriculture, Land Reform and Rural Development, based in Mbombela/Nelspruit, Mpumalanga.
Job Description
  • Provide research support on a Nematology research project on the exploitation of botanical extracts for nematode control as the affiliated postgraduate student.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders within affiliated research projects.
  • Disseminate project results through peer-reviewed or popular publications and presentations at conferences. 
  • Collect, capture, process and interpret field data, and make internal project recommendations.
Job Requirements
  •  BSc or Honours in Microbiology and Biotechnology, Crop Protection, Environmental Sciences.
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Must be willing to travel to remote villages.
  • A valid driver’s license (code 08/EB) would be an added advantage.
