Job Description

• Planting seeds and seedlings for research & commercial purposes.
• Grafting, budding, pruning of trees, harvesting of fruits for seed extraction.
• Collecting/harvesting of graft woods on various crops for research & commercial purposes.
• Irrigation, fertilizer application, weed control, pest and disease control.
• Sampling of plants for evaluation purposes.
• Maintenance of fence and shade nets.
• Utilize tools and materials, under supervision.
• Provide verbal feedback on work activities to supervisor.
• Identify and participate in own learning opportunities.
• Complies with SHE/OHS regulations and procedures.

Job Requirements

• Grade 10 or minimum of 5 years relevant experience on plant propagation.
• Ability to operate farm machinery and general upkeep of the nursery.
• Knowledge of both nursery and laboratory practices.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
• Good health and physical ability.
• A good knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety experience will also be an added advantage.
